Running Tezos on a Raspberry Pi
Abstract
Tezos is an environmentally friendly Proof of Stake blockchain. It does not need lots of computing power to process new transactions onto the blockchain. It can run on domestic computing equipment.
There is at least one baker running Tezos on a small computing platform (Tezberry Pie) and others are experimenting with Raspberry and Orange Pi boards.
I wanted to see if it was possible to effectively run the Tezos software on a small inexpensive machine. In this article, I examine running the Tezos software (Octez) on a Raspberry Pi computer. We use a Raspberry Pi 4 for most of the testing.
The equipment and baking loan for this article was provided by the Tezos Foundation.
